Over the coming months there will be opportunities to come into the church to enjoy the space and to sketch, draw and paint. Everyone is welcome to participate and no requirement to display your work will be imposed! Our first opening is Saturday 26th October, 9:30am – 12 noon. Please bring all your own equipment.
To accompany the art exhibition and decorate the church we also plan to have a floral festival. If you are a keen gardener who would like to display your flowers in a church setting or if you fancy trying your hand at flower- arranging then this is an opportunity for you. Participants will need to provide their own flowers and book a slot in the church by contacting Claire Atkins at email@example.com
St Barnabas Church possesses a range of spectacular and unique vestments. These are the special robes which the clergy wear during services at Church. Some of them are very old and thanks to careful conservation and restoration, they are mostly still worn today for services. During Artweeks you will get a chance to see these vestments close up and learn more about their origin, meaning, purpose and symbolism.
Open daily between 16 and 25 May from 12noon-6.00pm
The church has participated in the Oxfordshire Artweeks Festival over a number of years and this year we are planning to put on a display of work by the community, congregation and friends which celebrates its presence and meaning in Jericho. Amateur and professional artists can contribute works to this non-selling exhibition.
All the exhibitions are open from 12noon - 6.00pm each day between 16 May and 25 May.
