Pub Theology

Once a month, some of the congregation at St Barnabas gathers not in church but in the pub. Pub Theology is a relaxed and friendly space to share a drink, meet new people, and explore life’s biggest questions together at a deeper level. Whether you’re a seasoned church-goer, a curious doubter, or simply enjoy a good conversation, you’ll find a warm welcome. The group is mainly geared towards younger professional adults, but everyone is welcome of any age.

We meet in local pubs and cafés around Jericho – often the Harcourt Arms or the Rickety Press – to talk faith, doubt, justice, joy, and everything in between. No lectures, no pressure, just open conversation and honest questions in good company.

We have discussed topics such as

“How do we ‘know’ we believe?”
“Reading Scripture in a prayerful reflective way: how do we do it?”
“Is prayer a divine slot machine: hoping we receive everything we ask for?"

Come along, bring a friend, and join the discussion. We meet once a month. Get in touch if you are interested-
