Summer 2026

After nearly 8 years of fundraising and preparation, the installation of the 1876 Willis Organ at St Barnabas Jericho is now - finally - beginning, marking a hugely significant moment in the musical and liturgical life of Oxford’s Basilica!

Beginning on Monday 20 July and continuing over a period of between 6 and 8 weeks, there will inevitably be some disruption in church, including changes to access, and temporary adjustments to how the building looks and functions. We are very grateful for everyone’s patience and understanding while this careful and specialist work is carried out.

During this period:

  • The Church will be closed to the public Mondays - Saturdays.

  • Weekday services will be online or at St Thomas the Martyr (details below)

  • Sunday services will continue in St Barnabas (in the Lady Chapel), 8am, 10.30am, 6.30pm.

This historic instrument will be a remarkable gift for worship, music, and the wider community for generations to come. Thank you for bearing with us as we prepare to welcome this remarkable instrument into its new home.
